Description:
A gastronomic, barrel-fermented rosé made with grenache by the wonderful team at Minim in Castlemaine. This saw plenty of exposure to oxygen throughout elevage, and as a result the seductive varietal fruit has been deepened by layers of salinity and mealy richness.
Tim and the team have worked with this site at Metcalfe since 2015 and took over management there in 2019. The site is unirrigated, planted over deep granitic sands and clays, and gives fruit with plenty of natural acidity.

Description:
Le Bois Dieu was established by Salma Cassam Chenaï and Frédéric Thiry who in 2015 moved to the commune of Semur-en-Brionnais, an hour west of Macon on the eastern side of the Loire River, to restore an old agricultural estate and work with its plots of old gamay vines.
In addition to making wines from their own vineyard, Salma and Frédéric also make wine from fruit bought from other friends in the area, and from elsewhere in France. The fruit for this wine was grown by friend Père Benôit down south in St Hillaire d’Ozilhan, near Avignon.
The sandy soils of Pierre Benoit’s site in St Hillaire d’Ozilhan have given this chardonnay lovely flow on the palate and the 11.5% abv has allowed for perfectly fresh acidity. This was destemmed, macerated for 12 days and spent ten months in tank. Lovely tension here with the time in tank preserving mid-palate phenolic structure and happily delicate fruit.
European hake in green sauce from a highly regarded conservas producer based in the Basque Country, specialising in hand-prepared, small-batch tinned fish, using only the finest sustainably sourced ingredients and time-honoured methods. Founded by chef Xabier Urtasun.
Contains European hake and hake broth, onion, olive oil, garlic, parsley and salt — no other additives.

Description:
We recently received our first shipment from Anjou vigneron Jérôme Lambert in a number of years and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Jérôme is without question one of very favourite winemakers, not just in the Loire but in all of France.
Jérôme farms a number of his own parcels in and around Rablay-sur-Loire, primarily planted to chenin blanc, grolleau and gamay. In a fashion which is typical of the area, the chenin is planted over schist and is deep and mineral, while the reds grow on sandier soil and are wonderfully lifted and aromatic as a result. The winemaking is simple however the fruit selection is beyond rigorous. No oak is used in the winery and the wines have incredible purity and primary detail.
2022 Zudefruit comes from grolleau and is as good a rendition of this wine as we’ve ever tasted. It’s silken and polished in structure, with pure and earthen dark red fruit and a wonderful feeling of freshness. This is a serious offering from Jérôme and will be very well suited to the cold nights ahead.
