Catherine Riss De Grès ou de Force 2019
Alsace, France
Riesling
13% ABV.
Alsatian-born Catherine Riss established her domaine in 2012 with the purchase of 1.3 hectares of vines and, in 2015, her cellar in Bernardville. Today she farms a total of 4 hectares across 10 plots spread across the base of the Vosges mountain range, bordered by forest, in a microclimate which is very conducive to slow ripening and, ultimately, great freshness and acidity.
This comes from riesling grown on sandstone and was direct-pressed, with elevage in old barrels.
