Kunoh Wines Musée Kyoto 2022
Upper Moutere, Aotearoa
Merlot, Pinot Noir, Alicante Bouschet, Pinot Blanc
12% ABV
Former sommelier Yuki Nakano makes thoughtful and delicious blends from his current base in Upper Moutere, at the northern tip of Aotearoa’s south island. Originally from Kyoto, Yuki has previously made wine in Chianti, Japan and Australia, but now lives and works permanently near the seaside town of Nelson.
Musée Kyoto is a blend of merlot, pinot noir, alicante bouschet and pinot blanc – all of which was vinified separately before being blended together to create this dark rosé. There’s a deliciously savoury, saline quality beneath the red fruit which we’ve come to associate with the heavy clay soils of this area and which makes it both moreish and very versatile. But like all of Yuki’s wines, it has been made with food in mind.
