Les Cave Des Nomades Vagamond 2020

A$130.00

Banyuls, France
40% Grenache Noir, 20% Carignan, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Merlot
ABV: 13.5

Here’s a stunning collectors item form the far, far south of France.

Portugese vigneron José Carvalho lived and worked in Banyuls-sur-Mer for nearly ten years and while there grew his domaine La Cave des Nomades in to one of the most revered in the south of France.

He made his last wines there in the 2020 vintage and has since returned to Portugal, making this cuvee an especially significant release.

The 2020 Vagamonde has really serious complexity, is mineral, deep and very long. It’s medium bodied, though very nearly full bodeied and the style is serious and classical.

Enjoy this during the cooler months with a plate of excellent potatoes, greens and beef heart.
