CDVA Arrête Ton Cirque 2022

A$48.00

Beaujolais, France Gamay vialla, muscat bleu, gewurztraminer ABV: 9.5%

Again, a truly singular cuvée from CDVA – naturally, using grapes found nowhere else. Round and leesy with lots of lovely blueberry and mellow acidity. Low ABV makes this quaffable beyond belief. We recommend buying two as the first bottle will disappear almost instantly.

Karine and Cyril Alonso’s incredible 1.5ha domaine, the Conservatoire des Vignes Anciennes in the west of Beaujolais, is one of the most fascinating agricultural projects we know of. Having made wine under their negociant label P-U-R for many years, Karine and Cyril purchased this tiny ampelographic conservatory in 2016 and have been producing around 10 absolutely arresting cuvees from the site each year since.

And while the farm was already home to more than 100 grape varieties, the couple have continued to plant and today the number actually exceeds 140 old varieties, surrounded by 450 ha of forest. The farming is very sensitive, close to permaculture in fact, and the winemaking is extremely precise.
