Panduro Quarterada 2023
Mallorca, Spain
Callet, Manto Negro
11.5% ABV.
One of our favourite wines to come through the shop in recent months, this comes courtesy of Panduro, a collaborative project between winemakers Henrik Falk and Ibon Apezteguia who are part of an exciting community of winemakers working on the Balearic island of Mallorca.
This cuvee comes from local varieties callet and manto negro. Carbonic handling has resulted in a light and pure red wine with sweet primary fruit and supple texture, underpinned by a feeling of mineral depth and subtle earthen character as well. In many ways, this resembles top-quality local pinot noir in terms of weight and flavour profile, albeit with a garrigue note which is distinctly Mediterranean.
We love this and recommend it very highly.
