La Petite Soeur Globule Blanc 2022

A$94.00

Anjou, Loire Valley, France
Chenin Blanc
ABV: 12%

Adrien De Mello’s wines have come a long way since we first met him in 2018 and this is particularly evident in this staggering dry chenin blanc.

Adrien’s white wines have beautiful purity and definition, his handling (especially here) captures both primary fruit and stony minerality - something really quite rarely seen in youthful white wines. It’s points like this that make Adrien, in our opinion, one of the most exciting wine makers in this part of the Loire Valley at the moment.

Adrien’s chenin blanc grows on dark Anjou schist around the village of Saint-Aubin-de Luigné and in the last couple of years this cuvée has gained an extra level of depth and pure soil expression thanks to Adrien’s approach to farming.

This is wonderfully stable, and develops nicely over a couple of days. Enjoy with oysters or raw fish or, for an especially nice moment, a young Loire goat’s cheese.
