La Petite Soeur Kumu 2022

A$79.00

Anjou, Loire Valley, France
Grolleau gris, chenin blanc, sauvignon blanc
ABV: 11.5%

A brilliant, balanced, dark rose. Kumu has a beautiful texture and balance of herbs and berried fruit. Really lovely style of aperitif wine; engaging yet relaxed. A really lovely expression of class Loire varieties done in a new and interesting style. Another brilliant show from a rising star in Anjou.

Originally from Brittany, Adrien fell into wine making in Quebec where he worked for a number of years before returning to France to work in the Southern Rhone Valley. During this time he also lived and made wine in America and South Africa and when he heard of an organically farmed estate in Anjou that was downsizing and selling a section of the property he leapt at the chance to begin his own domaine and be a little closer to his home region.

Today, Adrien farms just over three hectares of Loire varieties outside the village of St Lambert du Lattay in Anjou, one the most widely revered regions of the Loire and makes a delicious range of seriously pure, detailed wines. The terroir here is largely schist-based which and the wines have a pleasing notion  of minerality as a result.
