Jauma Lulu 2023

A$47.00

McLaren Vale, South Australia
Chenin Blanc
13% ABV.

It’s always a real pleasure having new releases from Jauma in the building.

James Erskine and his family have been making pure, varietal expressions of McLaren Vale varieties since 2010 and were among the very first in the country to have bottled organic wines without any additions. Now farming their own 40 acre property in Lenswood and growing all sorts of fruits in addition to bottling cider and vinegar, the Jauma team remain some of the leading lights of South Australia’s wine community, not only making very precise and delicious wines but doing a lot of very positive communicating within with broader community of organic farming.

Lulu comes from vines established in the 1940s in Blewitt Springs planted in deep white sand on clay and schist and saw elevage in old 500L barrels. Balanced, resolved, varietal and pure, this is drinking very well now and will continue to evolve gracefully over a number of years – for those interested in putting one or two in the cellar.
