L'egrappille (S)Rab 2022
Languedoc, France
Grenache, Gamay
14% ABV.
The next instalment of Auvergne vigneronne Catherine Dumora’s quite stunning release of 2022s, this is a blend of négoce grenache and gamay, grown on calcareous soil in Minervois, which saw elevage in sandstone vats.
This is fairly typical of Catherine’s reds – medium-bodied with very pretty albeit restrained red fruit, fine tannic structure, balanced acidity and subtle textural richness from the grenache. It’s particularly delicious when served at a slightly lower temperature.
